Day 4

Today we continued Icelandic language lessons in the morning then had a lecture on Icelandic history from the first settlement in 874 at Reykjavik until 1900s.  In the afternoon, we visited Landnámssýningin, the Reykjavik settlement exhibition that includes an acheological site and visuals of what Reykjavik would have looked like in the 900s.  Next, we went on a tour of Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament building where we learned a little about Icelandic political parties and viewed the lower house where ministers and parliament members gather to vote and pass new laws.

The top photo below is the front of the parliament building.  The bottom two photos are of the settlement exhbition.
